Making its way at the 13th position is EDC (And no, its not the dance festival sorry guys)

The youngest committee at MICA, The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) aims to foster and nurture talented young minds with a vision. With India witnessing the rise of startup culture, the committee encourages and guides anyone and everyone who is bitten by the entrepreneurs. Under the aegis of the MICA Incubator, the E Cell provides a platform for budding entrepreneurs to hone their skills and build sustainable relationships with their mentors in order to facilitate successful transitions towards launching their own ventures. With events like ‘Start your own startup’ and ‘Startup Garage’, EDC has managed to capture the imagination of the entire MICA community.
Given its MICA, it’d be a shame if TED didn’t make its way here. Presenting, TEDxMICA.

TEDxMICA’s objective is to spread ideas and inspire minds to think beyond norms and general convention. With a plethora of dynamic speakers and motivation speakers gracing MICA, one could say that they have been hitting the mark with astounding frequency. After successful events year after year, all they seek to do is invest in ideas and unveil a whole new world of possibilities. Notable speakers include Gautam Bhimani, Anu Menon, DalipTahil and many more.
At the penultimate position is the committee that is the daddy of all committees and among other tasks also acts as an interface between the students and the admin, the MCSA.
MCSA is the officially recognized student body of MICA which oversees all other student committees. All committee activities come under the purview of MCSA and it acts as a liaison between the students and the administration. It has been in existence since MICA’s inception and comprises of a 3-member team. MCSA works to create a congenial environment for every student in MICA in order to ease and enhance student life that complements a holistic experience for every student at MICA. This includes:
- Providing opportunities of self-learning through relationship, partnership and collaboration among students, faculty and staff members of the institute through constant communication and transparency.
- Helping every student make significant contribution in the development and growth of the institute through integration of academics with student-organized co-curricular activities.
- Creating a supportive ecosystem to promote individual student excellence, protect student rights and provide student welfare.
So, this is it. The committees that constitute the MICAn experience. Oh no, wait! These are just 15, right? Clearly, I’m missing out on one. One that stands out for me personally, one that has something about it that intrigues me more than the others.
STAY TUNED as we discover this committee that deals in the business of nostalgia and what makes it so special. Until then, stay safe and stay happy, cheers!
